Urban Architecture Class's Final assignment
hi everyone ! this time I would post my final project of Urban Architecture class.
This is about PUBLIC ART SPACE at BANDA ACEH
maybe if you going abroad, you will find some public arts at the downtown. it could be everything. even a bench can be called as a public art.
Public art is not an art “form.” Its size can be huge or small. It can tower fifty feet high or call attention to the paving beneath your feet. Its shape can be abstract or realistic (or both), and it may be cast, carved, built, assembled, or painted. It can be site-specific or stand in contrast to its surroundings. well, I and my group have discussed this project and we decide to create a public art space in Banda Aceh. BUT, it's located in three locations which are connected by bicycle way.
the reasons why we choose those three locations are because of the history of the place. each place has their history. we are as the citizen at Banda Aceh should know about the beginning of Banda Aceh, The Colonial era and the history of the tsunami that hit Banda Aceh on 24th of December 2004.
